150: Focus on Where You Want to Go, with Tom Bilyeu (1 of 2)

Have you ever stumbled upon a podcast, website, or YouTube channel, and you thought, “Where have you been all of my life?”  If so, you can relate to the feeling I had when I found the YouTube channel and podcast called Inside Quest. The host of Inside Quest, Tom Bilyeu, shares his story of how the movie “The Matrix” showed him that he was creating his own limiting beliefs.

Tom shares how he went from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset and how it enabled him to follow his passion, which is to end metabolic disease. You’ll hear nuggets of wisdom such as having a value system you share with your romantic partner and business partners, believing in what you’re doing, being able to pick up things later in life, and describing what episodes of Inside Quest really left an impression on him, including runner Blake Leeper.

Side note: Tom has had such a huge impact on so many lives, that I asked an Inside Quest listener to create an introduction for Tom that includes a powerful video highlighting people whose lives have been changed thanks to his podcast. You can view the video here.

Inspirational Runner of the Week, Craig Caruso, shares how the app Qapital has allowed him to save money and move his body more. Because of this, Craig shares his how he turned his health around.

Serena gets a little feisty when I ask her why so many people think the best way to build muscle is to eat chicken and rice. Let’s just say that after this interview, you’ll understand why potatoes are a more healthful choice than rice.

Next week, Tom is back on for Part 2 of our two-part conversation where we discuss some of his favorite books, love and connection, and how not to make your heroes special. Peter Diamandis, a friend of Tom’s and an Inside Quest alum, has just released his biography called How to Make a Spaceship: A Band of Renegades, an Epic Race, and the Birth of Private Spaceflight.

Are you looking to get a better understanding of how you’re spending your time and how that may differ from your intentions? We have a special challenge coming up that could help you do less better. Click HERE and I’ll get you on the invitation list!
