236: How and Why to Take a Daily Vacation

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know I need to take time for myself, but would you look at this huge to-do list that I have?! Plus look at all of the holiday “stuff”! And wouldn’t I feel better if I just crossed off some items on my list? Yes and no. And pretty much no.

Science proves that the more positive emotional experiences you have—including joy, love, amusement, awe, inspiration, pride, hope, interest, and serenity—the happier you are. Pretty cool, huh? And the beauty of taking this time is that you take it to become more refreshed, invigorated, can see new things you never saw before, and it relieves stress. Think of it as a time for your brain to switch off.
