37: What to Eat Before, During, and After a Long Run
Serena Marie, RD and I go for a long run today and discuss what to eat before, during, and after your runs. We get super detailed on what to do and not to do. We do this for a number of reasons including how I am going in to the Chicago Marathon undertrained, which also has affected my ability to properly test foods.
A new segment on the show was launched too about Serena busting food myths. You don’t want to miss it when Serena asks that people stop hating on butter.

Super Ice Cream Recipe:
1 C Frozen cherries (ideally tart and organic - organic frozen cherries from Costco are not tart)
1 C Frozen blueberries (ideally organic)
2T unsweetened coconut
1/2-1 c Organic Heavy Cream
3 T chia seed
Blend together and it is Heaven, and I’m not kidding. Shout out to Meaghan Nana Sinkam for this recipe.
